Funeral Flowers
Funeral flowers are a touching way to show compassion and share grief with those who have suffered the loss of someone dear to them. They will also add to the aesthetics of the funeral ceremony. There are many different types of arrangements specially designed for funerals.
Typically funeral arrangements are made up of white flowers and range from small simple vases to large, complex wreaths and bouquets. Traditional funeral flowers include lilies, calla lilies and carnations, but that doesn’t mean that sending another type of flower is offensive or unacceptable. If you know what the person’s favorite flower was, it is always a nice gesture to send an arrangement full of their favorite flowers. Also keep in mind that it is acceptable to send the flowers to either the home of the house of mourning or the funeral home or church.
Different cultures have different positions on funeral flowers, so if you have any questions, be sure to talk to someone close to the bereaved to learn of any particular religious or cultural customs. Cemeteries also have particular regulations on flowers, so always talk to a local florist to find out the local cemetery regulations.
